How My Live Wedding Painting Process Works
Live Wedding Painter in Cincinnati, Dayton, Ohio, Indiana & Kentucky
If you’ve ever wondered how the live wedding painting process works — from the very first inquiry to the final delivery of your artwork — you’re in the right place.
Whether your wedding is in Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Indianapolis, or anywhere in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, this guide walks you through exactly what to expect when you book me as your Live Wedding Painter.
Step 1: Explore Packages & Choose Your Canvas
The first step is exploring my Live Wedding Painting packages on my website. Each package includes different canvas sizes, allowing you to choose the scale that best fits your vision and the moment you want captured on your wedding day.
Once you find the option that feels right, you can either book directly online or email me at info@gilsbridal.com to begin your reservation.
Step 2: Booking & Securing Your Date
After we finalize your package details, I’ll send you a booking link or invoice. Once your deposit or full payment is received, your wedding date is officially reserved on my calendar.
This is also when we begin discussing the creative details that will make your painting truly personal.
Step 3: Personalization & Vision Planning
This is where your story comes to life.
Together, we’ll talk through:
Whether you’d like to include pets or meaningful details
Color preferences or emotional tones you love
The exact moment you want captured — such as your first kiss, vows, or walk down the aisle
We’ll also decide where the painting will be set up during your reception — whether you want guests to watch the process live or prefer a more intimate setup.
This planning stage allows me to design a composition that reflects your love story and wedding aesthetic perfectly.
Step 4: Wedding Day – Live Painting Experience
On your wedding day, I arrive approximately two hours early to set up, assess lighting, and prepare the base layers of your painting.
Once your chosen moment takes place, the live painting begins. I take a quick reference photo to lock in the composition, then continue painting live throughout the event.
By the end of the night, your painting is typically 80–85% complete, and guests absolutely love watching the artwork come to life during the celebration.
Step 5: Finishing Touches in the Studio
After the wedding, I bring the painting back to my studio in Ohio to complete the final details — adding depth, highlights, and texture.
Within five days, your painting is fully finished.
If you’ve selected a custom frame, that process takes an additional five days to ensure the frame complements your artwork beautifully.
Step 6: Delivery & Final Reveal
For weddings in Dayton or Cincinnati, I personally deliver your painting at no additional cost.
For weddings in Indiana or Kentucky, a small delivery fee applies to cover travel, ensuring your artwork arrives safely and ready to display.
A Forever Keepsake
Your finished Live Wedding Painting is more than a piece of art — it’s your love story frozen in time.
Every brushstroke captures the emotion, movement, and joy of your wedding day. Many couples tell me their painting becomes one of their most cherished memories from their entire wedding.
